Gil Damiani

Gil Damiani is a retired Assistant Fire Chief from the City of Mesa (AZ), where he spent more than 30 years working in the field of public safety.  Gil served in multiple capacities including the fire department’s Public Information Officer, Assistant Chief of Operations, Assistant Chief of Training and Emergency Medical Services as well as the last five years of his career as the Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Mesa. After his retirement in November of 2010, Gil started TMB Services LLC, a consulting firm that provides a variety of services including disaster preparedness training, drills and exercises. Gil has been a State Certified Adjunct Instructor for the Arizona Department of Emergency Management, teaching courses on the Incident Command System across Arizona since 2004.  Gil will be working directly with our facilities on NHICS training and other emergency preparedness activities including expanding our HavBED involvement.


Stanley J. Szpytek, Jr.

Stanley J. Szpytek, Jr.Stanley J. Szpytek, Jr. has more than thirty (30) years of emergency service, loss control and asset protection experience. As the former deputy fire chief / fire marshal of a metropolitan Chicago area fire protection district, his responsibilities included emergency management and the delivery of fire protection, emergency medical service, technical rescue and hazardous materials response and disaster planning. Additionally, Stan was responsible for fire prevention bureau management and the delivery of code enforcement, fire investigation, building plan review and public education programs. He honorably retired from the fire service in June of 2003. Stan is also a founding partner and president of a consulting firm that provides fire and life-safety assessment, disaster preparedness, emergency management assessment, specialized training and associated program development for a variety of facilities and organizations. As a safety consultant, Stan provides proactive safety solutions designed to identify and eliminate risks, subsequently promoting compliance and decreasing an organization’s operating costs as well as increasing levels of emergency preparedness. As the Life Safety / Disaster Preparedness / Emergency Management Consultant for the Arizona Health Care Association, Stan is available to AHCA members to assist them with Life Safety compliance and disaster preparedness, emergency management initiatives to help ensure that our members’ residents reside in a safe environment of care and enjoy an enhanced quality of life.


Krysten  Dobson

Krysten  Dobson joined the Arizona Health Care Association in September of 2009 as the Administrative Assistant. Since then her role has developed into the Director of Member Services working closely with the members of the association and responsible for management of special projects including grants, the Arizona Health Care Foundation and oversight of the association social media and advocacy efforts. Krysten literally grew up in the skilled nursing profession starting at the age of five helping her mom who was a nursing home administrator. She then began working with a management team of facilities throughout Arizona. Krysten graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and Business.
