AzCHER Statewide Exercise Guidance for LTC partners

The COVID-19 crisis the world is currently experiencing is the real-life incident that will replace the Statewide exercise for 2020.  AzCHER has shifted from conducting an exercise to COVID-19 Response Evaluation, (assisting statewide partners in fulfilling all the state and federal requirements).

There are a few items AzCHER members will need to address for Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) compliance.

  • Make sure that your facility has signed the most recent version ( after January 1, 2020) of the Participation Agreement here.  When the AzCHER contractor completes the AzCHER After Action Report your facility will be included in the report
  • An Evaluator (within your facility) must be assigned. This person will be responsible for collecting all data and response documents created and/or generated (to date) during the current  COVID-19 incident.
  • At some point (and you may already be doing this) the evaluator will conduct what is called a Hot Wash. Essentially a meeting to get input from all participants and gather information on what went right and what could have been done better.  That information will be included in the facilities After-Action Report (AAR) and Improvement Plan (IP) but will also be sent to AzCHER to include in the statewide AAR and IP. AzCHER has developed template for the AAR.
  • The Evaluator must participate in a 30-minute Evaluator training conference. Check the AzCHER website for dates and times.

More detailed information on the COVID-19 Response Evaluation can be found on AzCHER  website or registration page.
